Lehigh County Authority and its Chief Financial Officer Edward Klein were recently honored with an award for Excellence in Financial Reporting, presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.
The award recognizes LCA for its 2018 comprehensive annual financial report.
In a press release announcing the honor, GFOA says the 2018 report was “judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.”
GFOA goes on to call the award “the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”
“We are proud of the work our accounting team does each and every day,” Klein says. “This annual recognition celebrates their hard work to tell the financial story of Lehigh County Authority in a comprehensive way.”
It’s not a first for LCA, though — for more than five years running, we have received this award for excellence in financial reporting.
