Lehigh County Authority and its Chief Financial Officer Edward Klein were recently honored with an award for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The award — LCA’s 6th in a row — is presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.

The award recognizes Klein and LCA for 2019’s comprehensive annual financial report.

In a press release announcing the honor, GFOA says the 2019 report met “the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story … The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”

“This award is an acknowledgement of our employees who work hard every day in the finance and accounting area for Lehigh County Authority. We are proud of their achievements,” Klein says.
