Adopt a Hydrant – Don’t bury it!

Besides providing safe drinking water for more than 100,000 people in the Lehigh Valley, LCA’s public water system also provides an essential service to the community – fire protection!

With all the snow on the ground, and more on the way, it’s easy to forget where your closest hydrant is.  A lot of times, it’s buried under a snow bank! If a fire breaks out in your neighborhood, do you want the fire company to spend time digging out a fire hydrant?

All customers are asked to look up and down the street where you live and find the closest fire hydrant and clear off the snow and ice. After the next storm comes through, please check it again to make sure the hydrant is free of snow and visible for your local fire company to find in an emergency.
