The first, the 2023 Municipal Authority Communications Award, honors our communications and community engagement work, including projects like our Interactive Map- Alerts & Outages, Interactive Source Water Protection Page, quarterly newsletters, Customer Service pages, WaterWorks blog, and more. The theme of this year’s conference was “Community Engagement – Tell Your Story.”

“LCA is honored to be recognized by PMAA for our communications program,” says Liesel Gross, Chief Executive Officer. “We take pride in our efforts to help customers understand the work we do every day to deliver essential services and protect public health and the environment.”

The second award recognizes retired LCA board member Richard H. Bohner’s 50-plus years of volunteerism with LCA. Richard, in the accompanying photo, was honored with the J.E. “Ted” Kuhn Extended Service Award for his five decades on our board.

Although the award was announced during the convention, LCA Board Chairman Brian Nagle presented it to Richard during a recent Board of Directors meeting.

The Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association (PMAA) is a Harrisburg-based organization representing the interests of nearly 2,500 municipal authorities across the Commonwealth. It launched the PMAA Municipal Authority Communications Awards in 2022, in an effort to recognize the valuable work done by municipal authorities to share their stories. The award showcases member authorities who have developed and executed effective communications projects in their communities. Research, design, innovation, creativity, and overall effectiveness are evaluated in determining the award winner(s).

We couldn’t be prouder of our hard-working LCA team!
